Political ethics these days seem like a thing in the past. It seems like no one is in it for the people anymore, only what benefits their party. This is why i decided to choose this topic, to see in depth how much these political parties have over looked these ethics. Many different subtopics can be related to my main topic. For instances, bribery, voting corruptions, personal gains, and using there power to elude paying taxes. These could all be used as examples of lack of ethics, abusing their power for personal benefits. You can find many different discourses on my topic. They use television to show people news dealing with politics, they use websites that talk about serious issues going on with in our government, they have press conferences to inform the people of their party’s plan, and there are books that are available for you to read on certain issues. These discourses make it easy to travel along information to the intended audiences.
These discourses are relevant to my topic because through these genres of communication is where you are able to see the lack of ethics. They will have newspapers or television programs that communicate problems to the community, showing people the corruption in our politics. The websites are relevant because they brief people on certain topics going on in politics and will go further in depth to seek the truth; like, factcheck.org or Snopes.com to help find out how accurate a certain story is.
Politics is extremely important to know because everything these guys do affects us more than anything. By reading up on a certain politician or following a certain story that involves a certain politician will greatly benefit you by making you a better voter and by knowing how this person handles himself. If a someone seems like a cheat and acts like one then i would not want him in office at all. This is why i want to research this particular topic. I want to be educated on the people who run our country to see the type of people in our office and understand what they are doing and how they are affecting my future. I’m also hoping that through this process i become more knowledgeable enabling me to tell others about i learned showing people that these negligences with our politicians affects us deeply. It could help people see that being ignorant on this certain subject can detrimental to the certain life style you wanna obtain.
